I apologize for the lateness of this posting. I was out of town at my nephew's graduation, and didn't receive this message until mid-week. That still doesn't excuse not posting until Saturday, so I ask for your forgiveness!

I look forward to listening in on Chris' message on the first two chapters of the book of Habakkuk. Please join us again next week (actually, in just a day or two) for the second part of this two-week series.

God bless!

Jennifer
<dc:subject>Hitting the Books</dc:subject><dc:subject>Habakkuk</dc:subject><dc:subject>May 2008</dc:subject><dc:subject>Chris Irvin</dc:subject>

Delayed Podcast

Greetings from the Philippines!

As you have probably already guessed, I'm travelling right now and don't have access to the CD's to upload the podcast. I apologize to those of you who come out early in the week to listen to Chris' latest message. Jennifer is working to get a copy of the CD and will post it as soon as possible.

During this past week, we began a two week study in our ongoing "Hitting the Books Series" on the book of Habakkuk. I know, I know...you are wondering if I just made up the name of that book...I really didn't. It really is a book late in the Old Testament. I stumbled upon it by accident a few months ago while doing my Impact Discipleship and was absolutely amazed by the book. Habakkuk asks some pretty harsh questions to God. God, in turn, gives Habakkuk some pretty straight forward answers. It is only 3 chapters and well worth a read if you've never read it before (in fact, its worth reading even if you have read it before).

In the Hitting the Books series, we try to tackle 2 books of the Bible a year (one OT, one NT). We take a look at both what happens in the book and how it applies to our lives today. Come back in a couple of days and we should have week 1 of Chris' comments on this fascinating book ready for you to listen to.

Until then - talk amongst yourselves (like seriously - post comments and stuff). I'd love to see comments from someone who reads the blogs rather than just the normal spam that I see (and delete) in the comments.
